At The Up Media, we respect your privacy. This policy applies to the theupmedia.in website and the The UP Media Android mobile application (package: com.upmedia.livetv). It explains what information we collect, why we use it, how it is protected, and how users can request deletion.

Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect account identifiers (username and email), optional profile/contact details, authentication tokens, IP address and basic device/app information. We also process interactions such as follows, likes, comments, replies, views and support messages.

Photos, Videos, Camera and Microphone

The app asks for camera, microphone, video/media or photo-library access only when you choose to record, select, upload, download or save a video. Selected uploads, headlines, captions, categories and location labels are transmitted securely to our server for publishing, frame rendering and HLS processing. The app does not access media for unrelated purposes.

Notifications

If you opt in, the app may store a push notification token and basic device/platform information to deliver news and processing notifications. You can disable notifications in Android settings.

Cookies

Our website may use cookies to improve user experience, remember preferences, support login features, measure traffic, and serve relevant advertisements.

Advertising

App and website traffic uses HTTPS encryption in transit. Access to administrative features is authenticated. We retain account data while the account is active; raw upload files and processing files may be removed under operational retention rules, while published or rendered editorial media may be retained for the news archive. Security, fraud-prevention or legally required records may be retained for the applicable period.

Account and Data Deletion

Reader accounts can be permanently deleted inside the app from Profile > Delete Account. Users who cannot access the app can submit a request at the account deletion page. Account profile, tokens and associated interaction data are deleted, subject to limited legal, security and public-interest editorial retention described above.

Children

The service is a general-audience news service and is not specifically directed to children under 13. Parents or guardians may contact us regarding a minor's information.
